Bear Pen Enterprises, LLC has acquired a Rebel 26×30 Jaw Crusher.
With the increased expense of gravel for road construction, hauling fees, etc., we realize that within 2-3 years we would have ROI. This is an exciting next step for Bear Pen Enterprises and opens new avenues of growth and opportunity:
We intend to use the crusher for:
producing several sizes of limestone and sandstone gravel
Current proposed legislation under the Biden Administrations takes another turn down a dark path and threatens the family farm. Farm Bureau has more information here:
This particular job was sorely needed. The customer had us re-open a road on their property that was previously not passable without a 4×4 with good ground clearance and a short wheel base. Supposedly there had been a culvert at one point, but drainage and caused both significant erosion and movement of sediment causing burial.
The old 20′ x 1′ culvert was a metal culvert and it had rusted and failed and been burried. We replace all old culverts with modern “plastic” culverts that won’t corrode and are typically reinforced. With the new fill we built the base now required a culvert more than 40′ in length. Ideally we would have put the culvert in first and built over the top of it, but that did not work out due to other reasons so we had to dig the old culvert out through the fill, lay the new culvert and back-fill.
This work was easily accomplished in two days with some survey work, obtaining materials and excavation and backfill. We used an excavator that could move the material and place the new culvert. There was some manual work to the initial back-fill to make sure the culvert was sloped properly and was properly supported prior to back-fill and re-packing the ground above the culvert. When then built stone portals around the up-hill side to protect the bank from erosion.
We believe it takes a village and with our success comes a responsibility to our community. Today we donated a cart full of meats and vegetables to our local church for their Fall food drive.
